23 September 2011 – PSEi Analysis

Uptrend –
Downtrend – AGI, AC, BDO, BPI, BEL, CEB, DMC, EDC, FGEN, ICT, JGS, MER, MEG, MPI, MBT, URC, SMPH, AEV, AP, ALI, GLO, JFC, MWC, PX, TEL, RLC, SCC, SMC, SMDC, SM
Sideways –

The list above is based on identifying the short to medium term trend (past 1-3 months). Uptrends occur when prices go up, indicated by higher highs and higher lows. Lower highs and lower lows indicate prices are going down, or Downtrends. Sideways trends are a gray area.

There are different kinds of Sideways markets. They can be flat, with prices unchanging. They can trade within a range, or they can be directionless, with quite unpredictable behavior. I make no distinction in my analysis above.

As a trend-following trader, I like to Buy/Hold stocks in an Uptrend, Sell/Avoid stocks in a Sideways market or Downtrend.

As per Tsupitero’s Sep-18 blog, “…as long as markets don’t crash, basuras like JAP stocks and Lolo stocks will continue to be immune from all the external distractions.”

Well well, even Lolo stocks are badly beaten (but i think not yet dead). Until they’re dead, we have yet to find our bottom.
